Working as a chef is a creative but demanding role. It requires passion, attention to detail, an efficient work ethic and a strong knowledge of food ingredients, food preparation, food hygiene and cooking techniques.
Working as a chef is an exciting, enjoyable and rewarding career. Chef’s are often one of the most important and integral parts of any hospitality business, charged with significant responsibilities.
As a chef with GIG, you will find yourself working across a variety of four and five-star establishments, assisting some of the UK’s top hospitality brands with everything from prep work to general service, stock control and very often even managing a section of the kitchen or the kitchen itself. You will get to work with many accomplished head chefs from a variety of backgrounds enjoying the buzz and comradery that comes with working in a busy kitchen environment.

Chef’s working at GIG need a minimum of 2 years’ experience at Chef De Partie level.

Many of our Chef roles are on continuous rotas and work up to and over full time hours, however, you have the full flexibility to choose where and when works for you.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will enjoy being part of the buzz of a busy kitchen, be reliable, skilled and have the ability to work well with different people and get a job done to a high standard. You will work well with the entire staff, from the other chefs to the other staff.
Minimum experience of 2 years as a Chef De Partie
Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate, Allergen certification and Lv1 Heath and Safety.
Have own Chefs whites, knives and safety shoes.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently
